The Training & Development role is a new role to our business, designed to take ownership of the full employee learning lifecycle of our apprentices and colleagues.

Job Description

The role reports to the Group HR Manager. Pendennis understands that it is our people who push our business forward every day and we pride ourselves on the quality of our team. Training and development is a key focus for us as a business ensuring that we develop and retain great people.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for the development and management of our Award winning apprenticeship schemes, Graduate Training scheme and management development programme
  • Ownership of creating career development plans for all roles within the company, focusing on enhancing performance in current roles.
  • Responsible for the analysis of training needs and development of training plans.
  • Organising both informal and formal training
  • Coordinate, plan and record all training activities for the company ensuring continuous added value.
  • Administering our successful Work Experience programmes
  • Liaison with schools, universities and colleges

The successful applicant will have:

  • Comprehensive understanding of funding routes and apprenticeship standards
  • Experience of managing apprenticeship schemes
  • Excellent communication skills with employees of all levels.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • The aptitude to work well under pressure and in a busy/ changing environment.
  • Microsoft Office: A good working knowledge of producing documents, emails, excel, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.
