GreenGenUK is looking to expand its office team with the appointment of a qualified or trainee project engineer to assist with our day to day renewable energy projects.

Job Description

The successful renewable project engineer candidate will assist our current renewable energy engineers with all aspects of the design and proposal stage of our renewable projects with the aim of becoming responsible for their own projects. The right candidate will become an integral part of GreenGen’s office team with scope for progression.

The role will include everything from initial responses to customer enquiries, heat loss calculations and system layout designs through to securing new contracts and providing technical advice to customers. The selected applicant will provide a thorough and professional experience to customers throughout their journey.

Job Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, the renewable project engineer:

– Making initial customer contact and responding to enquiries
– Heat loss calculations and system design
– Generating customer estimations and quotations
– Producing technical drawings, analysis and feasibility
– Producing risk assessments and method statements
– Liaising with customers and following up on sent proposals
– Liaising with GreenGen’s installation teams
– Supporting with post-installation documentation, handovers and subsidy registration
– Supporting other member’s of the office team as and when required

Personal Specification

Training and support will be given to the successful candidate but the following skills are preferred:

– Computer literate with both MS and CAD applications, particularly Excel
– A professional outlook when dealing with both internal and external communication
– The ability to take on new tasks and learn new skills on the job
– Capable of working individually or as part of a small team within the office environment
– Able to manage and prioritise own workload to meet client expectations
– A passion or experience in the renewable industry would be advantageous but not essential
– A full UK driving license (due to the requirements of the role)


The ideal candidate will have or be set to achieve:

– A2 level or equivalent in Mathematics, grade A-C or
– HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (not essential)
– GCSE or equivalent in English
