Main Purpose of Job: To advise and assist Start Up Loans applicants and make recommendations for funding.

Job Description

Functional links with:

Managing Director; Business Managers; Admin Team

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Appraising loan applications including risk assessment of the business proposition and affordability of finance for the borrower
  • Responsibility for completion and submission of all required documentation relating to the lending decision  
  • The delivery of loan volumes against agreed achievable targets whilst adhering to contractual and legal compliance requirements
  • To be responsible for updating the CRM/databases regarding individual client information
  • To help promote Start Up Loans and generate loan applications as appropriate
  • To undertake training as required to ensure compliance in regard to the FCA and other regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • To manage your own Continuing Professional Development in consultation with the Managing Director
  • To travel as required the cost of which will be met by the Company
  • To work in accordance with the necessary procedures
  • To actively and positively contribute to the staff review process and to follow up agreed actions
  • To work at all times in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to follow all company procedures and guidelines which assist this
  • To work at all times in accordance with the company’s Dignity & Diversity Policy
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job

Person Specification

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Effective workload prioritisation and time management skills
  • Computer literate (min. MS Office proficiency)
  • Experience of CRM data inputting
  • Adaptable and a team player
  • A commitment to the ethos of the Responsible Finance sector

Desirable

  • A degree or equivalent finance/business professional qualification
  • Business start- up or personal lending experience
  • A good understanding of start-up and/or small businesses 
  • Knowledge of FCA regulated lending

SWIG Finance is a not-for-profit finance organisation and member of Responsible Finance. The company manages a range of loan funds for start-ups and SMEs that cannot raise sufficient finance from the banks. It is the largest Start Up Loans Delivery Partner based in the South West.
