You will lead the delivery of significant, specialist, complex and high profile projects and action plans which will contribute to the delivery of the Environmental Growth Strategy.

Job Description

Cornwall Council has adopted the ambitious Cornwall Environmental Growth Strategy which was co-produced with the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership. The Strategy puts in place a structure that will help us to better understand what nature provides and needs, and how we can use this information to bring about positive change and deliver Environmental Growth in Cornwall.

The post holder will lead the delivery of significant, specialist, complex and high profile projects and action plans which will contribute to the delivery of the Environmental Growth Strategy, working in partnership with CC colleagues and a wide range of external partners. In particular, the post will provide the Council lead for the delivery of the Environmental Growth for Business project with the University of Exeter, including the Cornwall Sustainability Awards.

Over the period of the maternity cover, the post will also be responsible for:

  • Leading on our work to integrate environmental growth into Planning guidance and processes
  • Coordinating the marketing, communications and promotion of environmental growth, including through the Grow Nature website and events
  • Coordinating the production and adoption of the Cornwall Access Strategy
  • Helping to support the work of the Local Nature Partnership


This is a 12 - 14 month fixed term contract and may represent a suitable secondment opportunity for existing Cornwall Council employees. If you wish to be considered for a secondment, please obtain your manager’s permission before applying.
