To be a customer’s first point of contact for booking in working and arranging estimates. Oversee all customer & supplier’s correspondence, assist building internal databases, rigging department media content and ordering.

Job Description

Key Duties:

  • Overseeing all correspondence with customers – in person, phone calls & e-mails
  • Building relations with suppliers and overseeing all ordering.
  • Visit yachts to measure up for estimates and rigging works.
  • Utilisation of Kudos Workshop Software to raise estimates, book in work and invoice completed jobs on a rolling day to day basis.
  • Build on existing databases with regards to tracking estimates, converted jobs, labour hours & staffing.
  • Assist in developing staff – training courses etc.
  • Research new products to deliver to our customer’s yachts and maintain high quality of products.
  • Assist with the rigging department’s national/international presence through website & social media outlets.
  • To aid management to build and develop initiatives for the future of the department.
  • Continually look to develop the rigging departments customer base.
  • Occasionally help out on the shop floor – with simple overseen rigging duties.
  • To work inter-departmentally with colleagues at Mylor Yacht Harbour and other local Marine services.
  • Work overtime or irregular hours during peak season if required.


Desirable Skills:

  • Good knowledge of the marine industry and yachting.
  • To have a decent sailing/yachting background and comfortable with sailing/yachting terminology.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good team working skills and an ability to follow and understand management decisions.
  • An ability to be self driven and work confidently when unsupervised.
  • The ideal candidate should be highly efficient in their work, be time aware and have an excellent ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
  • Practical experience of boat handling and motor boat operations.
  • It would be beneficial to have a good understanding of the products we sell.
  • A willingness to learn would also be a significant advantage.
  • Due to the more remote location of our business a full driving license would be an advantage.

Essential Skills:

  • A substantial maritime/yachting background.
  • Have a high standard of IT skills.
  • A very high level of customer service.

Mylor Rigging is a well established rigging company based within Mylor Yacht harbour, Falmouth. Set up over 25 years ago, the business has a highly experienced rigging team capable of undertaking a wide range of services for the discerning yachtsman.

Our team are all experienced sailors with extensive cruising and racing knowledge who are able to undertake any project relating to masts, spars, rigging or deckgear on your yacht.
