Responsible for making the shop financially successful through understanding our audience and maximising profit.
Ensure the shop looks appealing and work towards making it a destination in its own right. Select, commission and order new products and re-order successful lines. Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements. Maintain effective stock control; deal with wholesale and mail order of stock; undertake daily reconciliation of till receipts and preparation of cash for banking; analyse sales and revenue reports and make forecasts; set sales targets for shop staff; assist the Director and Visitor Services & Security Officer with management of front of house services; supervise the work of Retail Assistants and create and implement effective work rotas; encourage high levels of performance and standards amongst the retail team; understand and uphold the H&S and emergency procedures of Penlee House; adhere to all policies of Penzance Council; any other duties as reasonably requested by the Director or Town Clerk.
Penlee House is a well-loved Gallery & Museum in Penzance, owned and operated by Penzance Council.
