Hours of work
Standard hours of work are currently 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility in working hours will be required in response to the demands of the role, and accordingly occasional evening and weekend work may be required, when time off in lieu (TOIL) will be permitted. Where social distancing recommendations are in place, this role can be delivered via a combination of home-based working and from our office in Truro.

Community Energy Plus are looking for an Energy Advice Projects Assistant/Intern to provide administrative support. Ideally someone with commitment and enthusiasm for helping others achieve positive outcomes in their lives.

Job Description

Role specifics:

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Project Manager and energy advice team.
  • Respond to initial telephone, email and social media enquiries about a wide range of energy related issues. Ensure all relevant information is captured and entered into CEP’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, with clients referred onto the advice team for further advice and support as required.
  • Provide information and, where appropriate, making referrals on behalf of clients to grants and other sources of funding for the installation of heating upgrades and energy saving measures.
  • Sending relevant application forms to clients for heating and insulation upgrades. Assisting vulnerable clients to complete application forms by collecting relevant sensitive information over the phone.
  • Help to administer emergency pre-pay meter top ups for vulnerable clients. Relevant information to be recorded for accounting purposes and reporting to funders.
  • Help to order small measures such as low energy light bulbs and draught excluders for delivery to clients as required.
  • Assisting the Senior Project manager and advice team with project invoicing and reporting as required.
  • Maintain effective customer relationships to assist customers to take action upon advice provided.
  • Deliver accurate and impartial advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy, fuel bills and wider support to maintain affordable warmth for the home.
  • Attend and contribute to events, displays and presentations as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
  • Assist with the delivery of the research Community Energy Plus undertakes into the impacts of fuel poverty and evaluation of project delivery.
