Cockwells are offering a really exciting opportunity for production planner to join the team to plan, monitor and manage projects to ensure that they are met within the allocated timeframes and budgets.

Job Description

After initial induction and familiarisation with the company, the successful Production Planner will report to the Production Manager in the busy growing organisation.  Working closely with the technical teams the successful candidate will be able to set daily deadlines and confirm key milestones, making live adjustments to Project Plans as required.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

  • Planning multiple projects integrating project overlaps and work with resource pools
  • Responsible for the continued improvement of production processes and procedures.
  • Able to deal with client liaison, including meeting clients for work reviews, answering client enquiries, managing client meeting and producing reports
  • Keep up to date with workflow, project status and budgets

Personal skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Relevant Degree level qualification
  • Confident to liaise and communicate with Project Managers and/or other senior team members.
  • Ability to plan multiple projects integrating project overlaps and work with resource pools
  • Experience of continuous improvement of production processes and procedures.
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast paced team environment with continually changing priorities
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery. An applicant with manufacturing experience would stand out from the crowd.  

Desirable

  • Have a working knowledge of boatbuilding material properties
  • Enjoy the challenges of working in a high-pressure environment
  • Be and ‘hands on’ manager with excellent communication skills to work closely with your own and the wider Cockwells team.
  • A love of all things marine!
