Job Description

Since 2018 the Penwith Landscape Partnership (PLP) scheme has aimed to conserve and enhance Penwith's unique landscape, making a long-term difference to its heritage, people, and communities

We are looking for a skilled and creative thinker to continue to lead the well-established PLP scheme, which promotes sustainable farming, archaeology, wildlife and countryside access across the nationally important landscape of the Land’s End peninsula. You will be self-assured in taking on complex challenges and driving projects to completion.

This is a rewarding and challenging role working with multiple partners and stakeholders and a professional team of subject-specialist staff. The postholder will need excellent communication, networking, staff support and project management skills and a passion to achieve more for all aspects of Penwith’s landscape.

The post holder will lead a team of nine other employees to project completion and budgets totalling £3 million. The postholder will be employed by Cornwall Wildlife Trust as the lead partner but will report to a partnership board comprised of 15 organisations. The scheme is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with match-funding from other organisations including Cornwall Council and Cornwall AONB.

If you are a natural leader, experienced in managing people and projects covering multiple workstreams, passionate about nature, a flair for collaborative working to create change then we want to hear from you.

Company Description

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK. With the invaluable support of our volunteers, members and corporate supporters we manage over 50 nature reserves, including an island for wildlife and people in Cornwall. We also work with other organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live.

We want to create safe havens in which wildlife can thrive and from which it can spread. We need to inspire people to love and care for the natural environment, and enable more people to experience, enjoy and understand it.
