Job Description

This is an incredible opportunity to drive the delivery of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s (AONB) Monumental Improvement Project. This project will place people at the core of our efforts to stabilise up to 40 scheduled monuments across ten of the 12 sections that make up the AONB, enabling you to experience some of Cornwall’s finest landscapes and know that through your commitment and drive you are helping people to help conserve and enhance these integral features of the Cornwall AONB. 

 

For the Activities Officer post, you will have a passion for working successfully with local community groups and volunteers to drive the delivery of an events programme to create a successful heritage project and have some experience of working on previous National Lottery Heritage Fund and/or Historic England funded built heritage projects. You should also be educated to degree or equivalent level and have a background in community-based projects where you have gained the skills to successfully engage local communities in heritage in a proactive and meaningful way that delivers benefits and outcomes that change beneficiaries’ lives in a positive way. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of the principles and practice of voluntary sector groups and working with volunteers including their health, safety and safeguarding requirements.

 

The Cornwall AONB team work closely with a wide range of public, private and voluntary organisations as well as supporting the work of the independent Cornwall AONB Trust.

 

This post is temporary for 12 months with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
