Job Description

Our merchandising team are the hub of the business at Seasalt.

Working with our buying and design teams, they review performance from last season to create range plans and financial projections for the next year.

Working with our logistics, retail and e-commerce teams, the merchandising team allocate stock to stores to ensure each store holds a range that matches the needs of its local market; then review performance and manage stock replenishment to maximise sales and margin.

Additionally, our merchandisers trade the business – planning promotions and markdowns to keep our in-store offer fresh, relevant and appealing to our customer.

Nearly everything that happens at Seasalt impacts, or is impacted by, our merchandising team – so the team develop a great understanding of customer, product and the whole Seasalt business.

Our merchandiser assistants will follow a programme that will see them working in placements across the merchandising team, with objectives designed to give a broad base on which to build your merchandising career.

As part of the role you will:

  • Support assistant merchandisers in clothing and non-clothing teams in producing analysis to aid trading and planning decisions.
  • Maintain our stock intake records, ensuring that Purchase Orders are raised and maintained in line with our product critical path.
  • Work closely with our stores, adopting branch merchandising responsibility for our stores – communicating regularly with our retail teams and visiting stores to enable you to develop ranging strategies that realise the potential of each store.
  • Be responsible for managing stock through the product life cycle, from allocation and replenishment to consolidation and transfer.

What we’re looking for

If you’re analytical, educated to degree-level or with great retail experience, are a whizz with a spreadsheet or calculator and want to begin your merchandising career with one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK, please apply.

You’ll also need to have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and proven experience of working to deadlines to keep up with our fast paced team. As you’ll be working closely with others, you’ll also be a great team player, adaptable and with strong communication skills.
