Other marketing opportunities may promise the chance to learn new skills and broaden your professional horizons, but few also come with the panoramic blue-sea view and striking Cornish scenery you’ll find at The Nare – a highly accoladed, independent hotel, just south of Truro.
As well as moving your career forward and gradually taking on some managerial responsibilities, you’ll have the privilege of working in a luxurious five-star country house hotel, overlooking Carne Beach and nestled between the rugged headlands of Gerrans Bay.
With its own balmy microclimate, where palm trees and subtropical plants flourish, it’s easy to see why so many of The Nare’s team have happily worked here for years – and what attracts generations of distinguished and discerning guests.
You might think that as one of only two AA 5-star hotels in Cornwall and the South West’s only member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World that the hotel sells itself.
In fact, they’re very much looking for someone who can bring a fresh perspective. You’d be ably coached and supported by the Managing Director and this could be the chance you’ve been looking for to exercise a little blue-sky thinking.
First, there are traditions you’ll need to understand.
You’ll have the summer season – already fully booked – to immerse yourself in the ebb and flow of The Nare. You’ll watch guests arrive in a chauffeur-driven Range Rover, greeted by affable doorpeople. You’ll see them exploring the coastline in the hotel’s 38-foot motor launch. You’ll see art lessons and spa sessions enjoyed, and cream teas and tennis balls served.
You’ll use your marketing experience to bring all of that to life: on the hotel’s website, through advertising and email newsletters. It’s an ideal step-up for you if you’re a resourceful, business-like graduate – someone, perhaps, whose grasp of the English language or design flair allows them to capture and convey The Nare’s unique appeal.
Over time, there will be scope for you to grow– whether that’s representing the hotel in person, harnessing data and technology or bringing PR in house. At The Nare, the horizons are endless.
