The Marketing& Business Development Manager will be integral and pivotal member of the management team, assisting the company to achieve sustained sales and profitability growth.

Job Description



The role can, to a degree, be tailored to the specific skills, competencies and ambitions of the successful candidate. The work is often fast-paced and challenging, will involve travel within and beyond the South West.


Marketing Role

Duties to include:

  • To work with the management team to achieve the strategic goal of growing the business and maintaining profitability.
  • Expand customers base within existing markets – principally defence, aerospace, medical and specialist industrial sectors.
  • Work with the General Manager to meet the customers brief: e.g. compliance with technical specification.
  • Work with existing customers to further develop the range of products and services offered to them by Logan Electronics.
  • Advertising; principal focus is website and marketing presentation
  • Event organisation; trade shows (working with admin team)
  • Public relations; liaise with suppliers, partners and academic institutions.

Business Development Role

Duties to include:

  • Identifying, securing, and/or managing relationships with new and existing customers and suppliers, and to help other key functions at the company achieve their respective goals (production, finance, quality)
  • Establish new customers in new sectors, synergistic with our existing capabilities.
  • Key member of project team to establish facilities and organise production to enable fulfilment of new customer contracts.
  • To understand, and disseminate to the other members of the team, the opportunities and challenges presented by compliance with quality standards, statutory requirements and accreditation systems.
  • To appreciate the consequence of compliance with prospective customer contractual obligations, from both the commercial and legal perspectives.


Desireable Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in engineering, manufacturing processes or related subject.
  • Previous experience of interacting with customers in a B2B setting.

Logan Electronics is an ISO 9001 registered electronics assembly sub-contractor supplying the commercial, industrial, medical and aerospace sectors. Products include wiring looms, coils, printed circuit boards (hand placed components), cabinet assemblies and radio antenna. The company was originally established in 1980, and has been under the current ownership since 2017. The company has a strategy of becoming a specialist supplier of sub-contract electronic assembly services to the aerospace sector and manufacturers of high-end industrial equipment.  In order to fulfil this objective, the business is about to begin a programme of investment in plant, machinery, facilities and staff training.
