Newquay BID work hard to market Newquay as a key visitor attraction through all season, encourage return visits, improve the appearance of town centre, and put on events in the town to encourage footfall (to just to name a few!).

Job Description

Newquay BID are looking for a creative and dynamic individual to join their fast-paced office based in the centre of Newquay.

Working with and reporting to the BID Manager you will support all the BIDs projects and take the lead on all marketing activity within Newquay BID. In this varied job role, no two days are the same and you will benefit from being able to manage your own time effectively.

Example duties:

  • Creating content, schedules, campaigns, and competitions for all social media channels for Newquay BID / Love NQY pages
  • Updating the Love NQY app and BID website weekly via CMS and WordPress
  • Collating and writing content to create Seven Magazine
  • Creating business blogs, writing press releases and newsletters
  • Distributing marketing content appropriately and researching new trends
  • Liaising with Newquay BID members about membership/invoicing queries, levy payments and voluntary membership
  • General administrative and PA duties to include minute taking, writing agendas, and organising BID forums
  • Liaising with local and regional media
  • Assisting with all other aspects of project delivery within BID as and when needed
  • Attending events / meetings outside normal office hours on an ad hoc basis

Essential requirements:

  • Previous marketing and PR experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in digital marketing (Facebook, Twitter, Insta)
  • Previous experience of writing for business
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Creative flair and excellent ability to create content for desired audiences
  • A real passion for Newquay
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to manage own workload
  • Competent user of Microsoft office applications
  • Experience using Content Management Systems / WordPress for website maintenance / creation of blogs and updates
  • Knowledge of Newquay BID as an organisation and its projects

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous use or knowledge of photoshop / editing software
  • Previous experience in a customer service / customer facing role
  • Previous experience or knowledge in working with other statutory and voluntary bodies

Newquay BID is a Business Improvement District, which is a defined geographical area, where business ratepayers have voted to invest collectively in local improvements that are in addition to those already delivered by statutory bodies.
