Checkmyfile, the UK's first provider of online Credit Reports, are recruiting for a Lead Software Engineer – up to £60,000 pa plus bonuses

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to build and lead our Engineering team.  You’ll be responsible for developing high quality solutions for our customers and other end users through our in-house team and working closely with our UK based Digital Product Development partners.

You will be joining an established and growing company based in Truro, Cornwall and will have the opportunity to progress your career within a highly dynamic and customer focused Fintech environment.

What you will be doing…

  • Working with the Systems Manager to deliver the company’s strategic software plans
  • Managing and developing your team to be responsive, and maximise potential and performance
  • Overseeing the implementation and improvement of features across various projects
  • Embracing an agile working mindset and taking ownership of the internal delivery of software
  • Working alongside augmented teams at our UK based Digital Product Development and Infrastructure partners
  • Collaborating with third parties, managing integrations through to successful delivery

We would love to meet someone who...

  • Has proven and demonstrable experience in a Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer role
  • Can take the lead on projects, is self-motivated and is a strong communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Is familiar with Agile development processes such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Has experience developing applications using .Net Framework and/or .Net Core; C# and/or VB.net; or has a proven capability to adapt to new software languages; and has worked with MSSQL or other mainstream RDBMS’
  • Has experience of JavaScript libraries such as React and/or Node.JS and/or JQuery
  • Is confident in source code management such as Git
  • Has experience of integrating with and implementing 3rd party APIs

Other requirements

  • UK citizen or an individual with existing eligibility to work in the UK
  • Degree or equivalent qualification - candidates with a strong history of achievement also welcome
  • Full UK Driving License and ability to travel around Cornwall.
  • Please be aware that a full DBS will be carried out
