An ambitious digital marketing agency based in Cornwall and Marlow are looking to add another member to the team in our St Ives office. A Junior/Mid-Weight Website Developer with an eye for creating pixel perfect websites.

Job Description

Working alongside our Lead Developer and Digital Designer, the successful candidate must have experience of working across multiple development frameworks and languages including React, JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery.

As a Website Developer and under the support and guidance of our Lead Developer, you’ll be responsible for delivering pixel perfect websites for our UK and international clients.

You’ll be capable of managing your own deliverables/workload and working towards project timelines/key deliverables, in a fast-paced and dynamic agency environment. We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and isn’t afraid to get stuck in from day one!

We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our offering, so you’ll need to be a curious Developer. One that has a genuine passion and interest for digital technology and website development.

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively alongside the wider internal team of Account Execs/Managers and Designers, ensuring the end product we deliver to our client’s is both on time, and of the highest quality. 

Essential requirements:

  • Proven and demonstrable proven experience as a front-end developer
  • Portfolio and GitHub with examples of the projects undertaken
  • Understanding of back-end environments
  • Experience with web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience with React, PHP, JavaScript, CSS and jQuery
  • Experience of working with version control such as GitHub or GitLab
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Backend SEO Elements Knowledge and implementation
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Proficient understanding of WordPress CMS
  • Proficient understanding of responsive mobile-first web development
  • An ability to work well alongside the wider team
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines

Desired requirements:

  • Understanding of server-side and client-side website rendering
  • Understanding of mail server management
  • Understanding of server-side file structure/management
  • Experience with CMS systems such as Storyblok, Contentful, Magento, Demandware and Joomla
  • Experience of working with Gatsby, Next, Vue, Laravel
  • Proficient understanding of E-commerce platforms (WooCommerce, Shopify, OpenCart, Magento, etc.)

We’re an ambitious team of digital marketers with expertise across media, design and technology - spread across two offices in Marlow and St. Ives, Cornwall.

Over the past two years we’ve seen significant growth, expanding from a team of 4 to 10. Our journey began specialising in the aesthetics, medical and health industries, however a recent partnership with a branding agency has seen us enter the retail space.

We now successfully manage a portfolio of retail websites across the UK and Europe, to add to our existing client list of over 20 clients.

We offer the following services to our clients:

  • Responsive web design and build
  • Multi-channel digital marketing campaign management (SEO/PPC/social/email/programmatic)
  • Content creation (inc. video, photography and copywriting)

For many of our clients we’ve not only designed and built their website, but also continue to work with them across digital marketing retainer contracts. As such it’s important that the successful candidate has an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ when designing creative solutions - the digital marketing landscape and our client strategies.

  • Salary is negotiable - we’re looking for the right kind of people to join us and are willing to pay above market rate to find them.
  • We’re a flexible team. Currently we work 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days from home.
