The ideal candidate will be confident at drawing by hand as well as typesetting and photo-manipulation in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Job Description

You will be working with the Project Manager and Junior GIS Engineer, and responsible to the Project Manager. Consistency in the high-quality of artwork and interest in new techniques is a must. Working with the Project Manager and Junior GIS Engineer, you will help develop consistency of artwork on new projects.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Creating illustrated maps
  • Scanning, sourcing, researching details for maps
  • Making amends to artwork
  • Getting artwork ready for social media campaigns
  • Getting artwork ready-for-print

Essential skills:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Adobe Illustrator
  • Adaptable to new techniques and methods
  • Excellent time management and keeness for meeting deadlines

Required skills:

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience using project management software (if not, training can be provided)
  • Excellent communication skills with the team and clients
  • Ability to work within team to the benefit of the project

Attributes:

  • Keen to progress from freelancing or graduate role
  • Interested in maps
  • Open to new concepts
  • Work well within a team

This role is suited to a Junior Illustrator with appropriate professional or vocational qualifications who is keen to do things differently, with complex and interesting projects. Experience working with Adobe Illustrator and superb communications skills is a must.
