The Role

We're looking for an extremely organised and customer focused individual who can act as a support for two distinct business functions. Reporting to our Finance Director, you'll be responsible for assisting the customer services team with answering calls and processing orders, and our finance team with general administration and credit control. We offer paid for training and support to progress your career.

General duties

  • Working with Peguses Opera and Xero finance systems for posting invoices
  • Filing invoices and customer statements
  • Opening daily business post and filing processed orders 
  • Administration of bookings for travel, accommodation, events and exhibitions
  • Supporting credit control, and managing bank reconciliations
  • Administration and invoice support for the service manager and engineering team
  • Processing monthly expense claims from Origin employees
  • Liaising with the production and warehouse teams to process and fulfil orders
  • General phone support for the office and customer services

Skills and Qualifications

  • You'll be both diligent and professional, with an enthusiastic and easy going personality.
  • Articulate with a good standard of both written and spoken English
  • Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to proof read customer communications
  • Maths and English A Level or equivalent at 'C' Grade or above
  • Willingness to undertake Excel training, and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) training and exams
  • Ideally have knowledge of and a passion for the specialty coffee industry or artisan food and drink, or a desire to learn about it
  • Full UK Driving license desirable

The roastery is based in Cornwall where we roast on two Loring Smart Roasts (some of the most environmentally friendly roasters available). When roasting we blend sensory skill and technical expertise to respect the individual characteristics of the coffee beans and highlight the flavours arising from country, terroir, varietal and processing method.

Origin is shaped by the desire to empower and enthuse people at every stage of the coffee journey. As part of this the education team teach the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe’s Coffee Diploma and work with some of the UKs most awarded baristas, including the 2016 UK Barista Champion. For Origin, it’s all about precision and craft throughout the supply chain.
