Ocean Group is a local housing provider based in St Austell, Cornwall who is the parent company for Ocean Housing and Gilbert & Goode. We manage over 4,500 homes and have ambitious plans to build 3,000 homes by 2030 and we are looking for an IT Support Analyst on a permanent basis who will work within the current IT team. 

The Role

Our current IT team deliver a pro-active, responsive, high quality IT technical support and advice service to the business where there is daily contact with staff and customers across the Group.

You will be an active member of the IT Team, which provides a support service to ensure effective IT operation for the business to ensure end users can accomplish business tasks. You will be the first point of contact to the support desk, providing a ‘one-stop-shop’ approach to answering customer enquiries. You will monitor the in-house ticket system to resolve queries effectively and in addition be pro-active in dealing with face to face queries to resolve emerging queries and issues. Working flexibly within the team to support a help desk covering 8am to 6pm each day which may include out of ours from time to time.

About You

You will have technical service desk support role experience and have previous experience of using Service Desk call logging systems. It is essential that you have experience of installing and configuring PC, servicer and printer hardware and Microsoft Office software along with experience of supporting VMWare vSphere virtual environments and supporting Windows Terminal Server.

The post holder would have the ability to solve problems within an area of work and are able to manage fluctuating, varied workloads and adapt to changing priorities along with delivering a first class, quality service. You will have the confidence to work within agreed objectives and have the ability to make decisions whilst recognising when to ask for clarification or direction.

It is essential that you are educated to GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent level 2 qualification in English and Maths and hold Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent Certificate, Level 3 IT qualification. A level 4 or above qualification in computer science is desirable, but not essential.
