Frugi are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Technician to join our team in Helston, Cornwall.

Job Description

With a solid background in IT Infrastructure support and management, you’ll be highly experienced in delivering excellent systems management and end user support. You’ll have a passion for IT and tech, keeping up to date with all the latest developments and proactively finding solutions to IT challenges within the business environment. You’ll be brimming with ideas to drive excellence in all things IT and play an active role in delivering the very best IT training and support service to your internal and external customers. You’ll be ‘cloud’ literate and super organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Your Role in a Nutshell

To manage all of Frugi’s core IT requirements, including IT infrastructure, hardware and software, to maximise business efficiency, ensure security and recovery procedures are in place and that each member of staff has the correct IT support that they need.  In conjunction and under direction of the IT Manager, analyse where IT could help deliver the business strategic goals and play an active role in leading and implementing those projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic IT training and support to our employees, both onsite and off, delivering excellent customer service to end users.
  • Maintaining and administering the IT infrastructure of the business including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations
  • Monitoring network performance and performing regular health checks on PC’s and servers.
  • Ensure the IT Infrastructure is secure and robust, and that security is embedded into every aspect, from hardware and software, to end user awareness by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
  • Manage the setup, installation and maintenance of all IT hardware across the business.
  • Manage the internal IT service desk function, including monitoring, escalation and reporting.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network and system problems.
  • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software as required.
  • Teach, liaise and transfer skills and processes, where necessary, to ensure Frugi has tech-savvy people who are using IT to it’s optimum.
  • Assist with planning the IT infrastructure for company growth, and take ownership of projects to deliver this, including a potential move to cloud based infrastructures.
  • Take ownership of, and implement ‘special projects’ with an IT focus.

Essential skills

  • Experience working with complex mission critical systems in a high pressure environment.
  • Proven experience leading the installation and support of Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, HyperV, Windows10, Active Directory and Office365.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, a creative and innovative thinker and ‘out of the box’ problem solver.
  • Highly experienced in providing first and second line support to end users, with an excellent customer service mentality and good communication skills.
  • Experience of configuring network technologies such as LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, switches and ideally firewalls.
  • Previous demonstrable experience in fault finding issues in complex environments and proactively suggesting viable solutions.
  • Experience of managing and leading IT infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage change and experience of incident management processes.
  • Ideally ITIL Foundation qualified, or at least a good understanding in ITIL principles.
  • Able to manage, support and coach junior team members
  • Prove experience configuring and managing incident/ticket management systems such as Zendesk.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Crystal Reports, SSRS or other reporting tools would be highly advantageous
  • Experience of implementing or managing cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft Azure would be advantageous.
  • Experience of ERP system management, including databases and reporting would be beneficial.
