Do you have a head for figures and life in Cornwall in your heart; and a passion to give something back to the local community with your skill set? If so, we’d really like to hear from you.
We're hiring an interim development finance manager. In this role, you’ll provide effective financial reporting and support for all our development activities.
You’ll lead on cash flow reporting, work with colleagues on assessing development schemes, their compliance with financial instruments, and their continuing financial reporting; lead on development and sales budgets and forecasts; prepare quarterly financial reviews; review rent and service charges, and monitor sales.
With your financial nous, we can really make a difference in our quest to solve the Cornish affordable housing crisis.
A basic DBS check is required for this position. It pays circa £51,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, fixed term for one year. Agile working and homeworking are encouraged.
Coastline’s mission, should you choose to accept: to provide great homes and great service. For that, we need great people. Could you be just who we're looking for?
It’s great you’re thinking of joining us. At Coastline we have a set of strong values focused on:
• Putting our customers first
• Openness, honesty and accountability
• Striving to be the best, and
• Valuing each other
We won’t take up your time recounting Coastline’s history or listing the tasks associated with the job. That’s what our website and role profile is for - if you want to work here, we’re sure you’ll read them.
What we wish to highlight here is much more important: a clear understanding of Coastline as an employer and the expectations we have of our colleagues. We want the best person for the role; to ensure Coastline is right for you and you’re right for us. If you’re looking to make a difference in a progressive, forward-thinking company, with opportunities to develop a worthwhile career, Coastline is the place for you.
Coastline Housing is an independent Cornish charitable housing association owning and managing 5,000 homes.
The housing crisis means the challenge we face is enormous. Only 1 in 10 of homes in Cornwall is an affordable home. Private rents and house prices are unaffordable to most, trapping families in poverty.
Coastline exists to help solve this crisis. To provide housing for those in need, to help improve the neighbourhoods that people live in, and to provide services that improve the quality of our customers’ lives.
In 2021 Coastline was named the eighth fastest growing association in terms of building new affordable properties. This is the fourth year in a row that Coastline appeared in the top 10 fastest growing housing associations list published by Inside Housing. Across the last 12 months we invested £34.5 million, including almost £3 million of grant from local and central government, in developing homes for Cornwall.
Coastline offers a fantastic benefits package, which includes the following:
We also offer trained mental health first aiders and wellbeing champion groups; continuous training and development; family-friendly socials, such as barbecues, picnics and fundraising events; and employer-supported charity and volunteer days.
With an Investors in People Silver accreditation and a top 75 placing in the Sunday Times’ best not-for-profit organisations to work for, Coastline is a growing company with a strong reputation.
So: Do you have the right attitude? Do you share our values and goals? Can you complement our diverse team; can you add value and bring something different to the party? If you answered yes to these questions, we’d love to hear from you.
