The Employment Specialist will join an Individual Placement Support (IPS) team working under the direction of IPS Team Leader to deliver IPS as part of the holistic recovery plan for mental health service users.

Job Description

The Employment Specialist will be based within the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) alongside the Peer Mentor and the clinical team.The successful candidates will:

  • Build relationships with clinical teams to generate referrals and create a collaborative working partnerships
  • Build a multi-disciplinary approach to the return to work
  • Spend time getting to know local employers, in order to negotiate job opportunities that meet each individual’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
  • Provide individualised support to service users once they have returned to work to assist them in sustaining employment.
  • Meet and exceed job outcome targets for service users
  • Ensure compliance with all Pentreath and CFT policies and procedures.
  • Undertake mandatory training as required including training in the IPS approach
  • Have a good understanding or experience of mental ill health
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
