Outset are looking for an organised, creative and highly capable communications person to join. Responsible for the communication and events activity for the Focus from the Outset, Community Led Local Development European Social Fund project

Job Description

Based at: Home and community based

Grade/salary scale: £22,000 to £24,000 pro rata (4 days per week)

Responsible for the communication and events activity for the Focus from the Outset, Community Led Local Development European Social Fund project, including community outreach, PR, general programme promotion, copywriting for print and e- marketing, all aspects of event planning and execution, social media marketing and online activity and coordination of all marketing resources and evidence.

Specific duties:

Eventbrite

  • Keeping Eventbrite updated with all events.
  • Regularly informing Focus team of bookings on events

Focus Facebook page

  • Regularly posting interesting, informative and entertaining content, and interacting with any activity to build followers and increase engagement
  • Ensuring public events are promoted across the platform with inclusion of relevant booking buttons/CTAs
  • List Events on Facebook
  • Ensuring private events are featured across the platform
  • Facebook micromarketing
  • Identifying relevant local Facebook pages, groups and community groups across West Cornwall and Coast to Coast area and establishing a link with page/group admins who would be happy to share information about the programme
  • Publicising relevant events to each area

Facebook Media

  • Ad creation and targeting using Facebook Ads to promote regular events and networking event

Other platforms (mostly aimed at stakeholders/partners)

  • Maintain Twitter feed
  • Increase Twitter followers and tweet engagement
  • Update and develop LinkedIn profile
  • Understand basics of Google advertising
  • Content Creation
  • Attending events to capture good quality photography and build a useable image library
  • Capturing video content via iPhone or Zoom to be edited for use on social media and the website, featuring positive client examples, tips, advisor snippets etc.
  • Writing short client testimonials and case studies for use on the website and Facebook social media

Website

  • Keeping the website updated with new content/case studies/testimonials
  • Understanding basic SEO to improve organic search results

Newsletter creation/email marketing

  • Use contact smart lists from our CRM and upload to Instilla when needed
  • Produce monthly (tbc) newsletter for clients, leads and stakeholders

Print/physical media

  • Occasional review, creation and production of print material
  • Distribution of promotional materials (possibly actual foot leather delivery)

Events

  • Organise (in coordination with the team) monthly networking events including locations, topics, speakers and attendees

Other

  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the various target audiences and tailoring communications appropriately to achieve the aims of the programme
  • Ensuring consistent, relevant and well-targeted tone, style, layout and content across all promotional copy and materials
  • Deliver excellent client service at all times to both clients, partners and funders, maintaining strong working relationships with a range of key stakeholders
  • Managing ERDF/ESF eligible procurement for your budget allocation, ensuring at all times, procurement frameworks, justifications and audit evidence are in place
  • Manage and maintain the marketing/comms/promotion/publicity audit files

Additional duties may be required on an occasional basis at the direction of the strategic lead

Some evening and weekend working will be required 

Person Specification:

Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant commercial, academic or vocational experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of digital marketing communications as
  • well as knowledge across the marketing mix
  • Relevant previous experience and/or qualification in a marketing function
  • Event expertise or knowledge
  • Strong proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with other stakeholders in a funded project
  • Experience of working with business support agencies, public and private
  • sector organisations
  • Experience of writing and delivering training in relation to marketing, social
