Job Description

We require a graduate level officer with a background in renewable energy or engineering to work as part of our team to provide technical support to the businesses being supported. This role will suit a recent graduate looking for a first job in the renewable energy sector.

The Assistant Technical Officer will work primarily supporting our Cornwall New Energy team developing renewable energy solutions, but will also gain experience from working with the charity’s wider activities, understanding how renewable energy fits within our energy efficiency, fuel poverty and building retrofit agendas. The role will require knowledge of both the generation of electricity from renewable sources and the adoption of renewable heat technologies. Knowledge of electrical storage solutions and the operation of heat networks is also sought. 

Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical knowledge and experience of renewable energy
  • Experience of supporting businesses to identify problems and opportunities, and helping them to develop and implement solutions
  • Practical project management skills
  • Good presentational skills

Company Description

Community Energy Plus is a member of the Cornwall New Energy partnership, an ERDF funded project providing support to businesses, social enterprises and community groups that want to generate renewable energy and improve their energy and environmental performance. To support the development of this project we are looking for a candidate based in Cornwall to deliver the Assistant Technical Officer Role.

6 month fixed term contract. Full time working, up to 35 hours per week.
